What do we do?
Our creations are mostly Karen's work but I contributed some of my latent engineering ability to the OLB Scan Card Organizer. The scan card organizer key chains sold by the competition are poorly designed and cheaply made. I never became a licensed engineer, but design work was one of my strengths as an electrician. I have the impatience with poor design that a good engineer should have. I don't believe I'm bragging when I say that the OLB Scan Card Organizer is by far the best scan card organizer key chain on the market today.
Who Are We?
We are OB (Richard) and Karen Burton. We live in Columbus, Ohio (Go Bucks!) with our psycho cat, Norman. We are the proud parents of Natalie D Richards, the up-and-coming author of the book, Six Months Later. We're also the every-bit-as-proud grandparents of Ian, our budding hockey player (currently sporting a broken arm), Adri, our gymnastics star and our adorable, too cute for her own good, Lydia. We are also the owners and originators of One Lane Bridge, doing business as the One Lane Bridge Shop.
Karen is an artist (among other talents) and I dabble in computers. I am slowly recovering from a near death illness and consequently retired prematurely from electrical contracting. Our income isn't nearly enough to go around, so we came to the conclusion that we should start an internet based business. A veritable cottage industry, without the cottage. With Karen's art and my computer background, how could we fail? What are the signs telling us?

What do we believe?

We believe in signs. The name One Lane Bridge originally came from a sign we once saw when we were driving around in the country looking for land. We saw the sign and the bridge and one of us remarked that One Lane Bridge would be a great name for a band (we were both musicians). We never used the name for a band but we did use it for our contracting business and resurrected it for our web based venture. I once played in a band named Live Bait. The name came from a sign I saw on the way to a gig. I enjoyed that band more than any I'd played in before so it's only fate and Karen's good sense that kept Live Bait from being the name of my first website. Hmm... LiveBait.com... It's got kind of a ring to it... I like it! Hey Karen!
P.S. Karen just told me that there is a band named One Lane Bridge. I told you it was a good name.
But seriously, What do we believe? We believe that Jesus of Nazareth, Christ, is the son of God, Messiah of the Jewish people and Savior of the world. We believe he was born a little over two thousand years ago and died about thirty-three years later on a cross. We believe he was resurrected from the dead three days later and now sits on a throne at the right hand of God. We believe he is the hope of all men and women, every race, gay and straight, Jew and Gentile, rich and poor. That's what we believe.

Karen's artistic work on the other hand is all handcrafted, mainly Native American inspired one of a kind collectibles. She and I share a fascination with the eighteenth century. She does a lot of beadwork and the vast majority of the beads, charms and pendants she uses were acquired from Reenactments, Rendezvous’, Powwows and Frontier Festivals. Much of her beadwork is as authentic to the eighteenth century as any made today. You can wear it proudly to your next Rendezvous’.
